Canadian design duo Dean and Dan Caten presented DSQUARED2 Spring Summer 2023 Menswear Collection, with a show held on June 17th during the recently finished Milano Fashion Week. The collection draws inspiration from Jamaican surfer that is in the water, or cruising on his bike on his way to a new swell. Also, the brand pays homage to the Jamaican singer Bob Marley and his foundation with prints and patches on outerwear, bags and T-shirts. The trio colours of the Jamaican flag with mix of pastel colours and earth tones are the key colors of the collection. For this season, looks feature flared leg denim jeans with patchworks, motorcycle jackets, mini denim shorts and jeans with eyelets, knitwear, crochet beanies.
A sarong tied at the waist is this surfer’s go-to, printed with swirling designs such as sun-like shapes in green and sunflower yellow. The sarongs come with matching printed beach shorts. Nubbly, dry-touch knitted cardigans and vests are worn on top, layered with an oversized tailored jacket with sloped shoulders. Long sleeved striped knits are in relaxed fits, some with deep V necks.Easy to sling over, deep acid coloured cross body bags in mini sizes are where this surfer carries his essentials. Other bags include a printed gummy-touch sack that rolls from the top to close, printed rectangular shaped totes with long buckled shoulder straps, or with an image of Bob Marley Foundation, with a quote of his on the reverse. On the surfers’ feet, flip flops are swapped for tech sandals, leather sandals, white boot shoes and biker mode boots. – from DSQUARED2
