Caruso draws inspiration from Irving Penn for Spring Summer 2027, translating his approach to composition, space and posture into a focused vision of contemporary menswear. Penn’s portraits reduce each image to essential elements, allowing proportion and presence to define the subject. Caruso applies that thinking to tailoring, materials and color, with every component contributing to a cohesive wardrobe.
SPRING SUMMER 2027
The collection develops a stronger silhouette through structured shoulders and greater definition. Tailoring remains its structural core, with a new suit inspired by the 1980s introducing a four-button jacket and trousers with a long, sharp front pleat. Caruso also proposes a slouchier alternative with relaxed volumes and a guru collar adapted into a three-button construction.
New designs include the Nabucco shell and Butterfly jacket, which explore the relationship between structure and fluidity. Established Caruso pieces also continue through new materials, including the Caruso Jacket in checked cotton and linen and the Norma in raw cashmere.
Caruso builds the palette around ash graphite grey, frozen blueberry and revised natural tones, adding rich greens, dusty shades and deeper colors. Grey remains a recurring reference. A consistent surface treatment maintains color continuity throughout the collection, while floral prints develop from previous seasons into softer, increasingly abstract forms. Muslin florals and enlarged poplin motifs carry this direction into shirting.
Caruso approaches the collection as a complete wardrobe, incorporating ties, pocket squares and scarves alongside formal shirts. Fine poplin, lightweight muslin, cotton and silk, linen and pure silk provide the foundation for shirting, while stripes, prints and different surface treatments introduce variation.
Lightweight structured wools and refined cottons, including Solaro, adapt traditional menswear fabrics for summer. Silk, cotton and silk, and cashmere and silk combinations extend the material range. Caruso also uses Barathea, cotton Solaro, Halstead, Hopsack, mohair, linen and silk combinations, and basket-woven silk. Lighter constructions update familiar textures while maintaining their role within each garment’s structure.
Eveningwear follows a focused palette of white, black, blue and Caruso brown. An evening coat derived from the double-breasted shawl-lapel Carmen joins a dusty bordeaux sequin jacket and a Barathea jacket. Morning coats and tailcoats extend the formal offering. Caruso develops decorative materials through new colors while keeping construction and fabric as the primary focus.
Accessories draw from classic menswear references and complete the silhouette through ties, pocket squares and scarves. Through the collection, Caruso uses Penn’s visual discipline as a framework for proportion, color and material.
