Nike Dunk History

The journey of the Dunk started off in 1985 with the release of Nike Dunk High, introduced as a basketball sneaker. The design of the shoe was heavily inspired by the Air Force 1, with an adittion of Terminator silhouette and Legend inspired moulds. The model was extremly popular with basketball players, until Air Jordan took over the realm. Designed by Peter Moore, this classic silhouette also won over the hearts of skateboarders all over the world, making them extremely popular during the 90s and 00s. Sneaker’s unique yet classic silhouette became even more popular when Nike decided to collaborate with Stussy, Supreme, Futura, Levi’s and more which later continued with one of the most popular collaborations to date. Nike teamed up with Virgil Abloh’s Off-White, who turned the silhouette into the style staple. Also, Dunk saw numerous iterations by rapper Travis Scott, who designed styles which sold out almost immediatly, making the shoe an extremly popular lifestyle pick.
