Italian fashion house KITON presented their KNT Fall Winter 2023.24 Collection with a lookbook unveiled during the recently finished Pitti Uomo. Brand’s creative directors Walter and Mariano De Matteis revisit the mantra of quality, craftsmanship and Made in Italy – a mantra they have lived by since they were children. They re-propose it by embracing the influences of sportswear and technical clothing, creating a collection poised between formal and informal, with a subtle twist of dandy style and based on an accurate vision of modern men’s needs and desires. The collection is a journey into the world of formal attire, drawing on the house’s sartorial heritage and exploring iconic menswear styles through a process of analysis, decomposition and recomposition. The result is a rediscovery of the brand’s core aesthetic, re-envisioned with contemporary style codes.
FALL WINTER 2023.24 COLLECTIONS
The technical and creative challenge of this collection was to uniquely interpret the garments traditionally worn by the men in our family, maintaining essential values like quality and Italian savoir-faire and fusing them with certain trends we like and pick up from observing the men we encounter on our travels, all the way from Europe and Asia to the United States. – Walter De Matteis
The collection plays with overlays and layered garments, creating a sophisticated dialogue that reinterprets the classic in a contemporary key by borrowing details and textures from the casual sphere. The timeless, impeccably-cut cashmere jacket is combined with oversized sweatshirts, shirt-collar polo shirts or crew-neck shirts. The men’s suit combines slim-fit jackets with our iconic trousers, a must-have and best-seller in KNT’s collections. As always with KNT’s collections, materials are meticulously researched and refined, starting with traditional fabrics such as extremely soft cashmere made in Kiton’s Biella wool mill, developed with new designs and patterns to create single-breasted coats in natural colors, also available in a hooded version. – from Kiton KNT
Warm wool is used for outerwear and knitwear alike, both in shaved and teddy versions, giving a nod to fine, traditional materials such as astrakhan, reworked in a modern key. Wide-rib velvet is used for trousers, jackets and vests, both in classic versions and reworked by mixing it with technical yarns that render it more fluid and high-performing. Other fabrics incorporate technical fibers such as nylon, which is used for downfilled jackets and waistcoats. The palette is centered on natural shades, in addition to classic blue and black and a delicate light gray. Red and camel pieces in velvet and wool are new to the collection, offering a textured feel. Denim is once again a main player in the collection: 5-pocket jeans are complemented by maxi-fit cargo styles, all available in 7 different washes ranging from light blue to black. – from Kiton
