Moncler, in collaboration with Palm Angels, is set to redefine Americana archetypes through the art of lightness with their latest collection. Francesco Ragazzi‘s Moncler x Palm Angels has been a pivotal force on the Moncler Genius platform, and this collection continues the evolution of their narrative, emphasizing values of freedom, individuality, and a unique sense of lightness. This lightness is not just about puffy volumes and soft textures but also embodies a hedonistic sense of freedom.
The journey began in February 2023 during The Art of Genius London Fashion Week event, where thousands of attendees found themselves immersed in a Palm Angels foam party in partnership with London’s Boiler Room. This event set the stage for what was to come in this year’s collection. A new campaign by Suzie and Leo now captures the themes of jovial effervescence through a series of film vignettes and stills, portraying liberated partygoers who seem to float through each frame.
This gender-neutral collection represents a further exploration of Ragazzi’s fascination with vintage, particularly the ’90s, and Americana archetypes, all filtered through the distinctive Palm Angels lens. The collection exudes a post-preppy feel, reimagining enduring codes with a twist. Cable-knit sweaters, cable puffers, and an aged leather biker jacket showcase this transformation.
The varsity sports-inspired story incorporates block stripes, polo shirts, and a reinterpretation of the oversized and padded duvet-style. Classic elements such as the button-down oxford shirt are used as accents, with button-down collars on zip-up puffers and an oxford patch shirt transformed into a puffer jacket. Puffers and cargo pants feature outdoor prints mixed with cricket stripes, while lighter jackets are layered under oversized duvets.
The overall aesthetic exudes a relaxed vibe with oversized skater jeans and tracksuit bottoms as the finishing layers, complemented by beanies, caps, oversized totes, shades, and Peka Trek hiking style boots with bold contrast rubber detailing. The result is a take on California preppy that feels both familiar and pleasantly surprising.
The Moncler x Palm Angels collection will be available for purchase on Moncler’s website and Palm Angels’ website, as well as in select Moncler and Palm Angels boutiques starting from October 26.
