Burberry UK clothing has gone from strength to strength this season and it’s fair to say that this winter we have all been obsessively lusting over the gorgeous camel trench coats so synonymous with Burberry style, but what’s in store for the next few months? As the quintessentially British brand get ready to launch their AW13 range in the next instalment of fashion week hitting our radars in February, it’s time to take a look in more detail at their SS13 collection which will soon hit the shop floor…
Giving their admirers spring / summer outerwear to be proud of, Burberry showed off their collection of ‘light’ trenches. There is a strong focus on energetic, bright jewel toned leather and silky, smooth trench coats in bursts of primrose pink, blush and mauve – the perfect colour choice for those balmy spring evenings. Capes were another key look to SS13 outerwear, which featured a glossy-sheen to its look with metallic shades displayed throughout the showcased selection. We saw tulip style sleeves and bodies on outerwear which creates a wonderfully fresh springtime feel, especially in the bright hues of blues and rich, royal yellows that were featured on the catwalk.
This obsession with metallic sheen and jewel inspired fashion transferred to Burberry’s collection of springtime accessories. Oversized tote bags in bold shades are the perfect way to complete a look with signature statement style so keep your eyes peeled for these gorgeous handbags.
A special mention for the colour…
Purple. Purple was everywhere on the Burberry catwalk, and, whilst usually a colour associated with the onset of winter and party season, Burberry have worked it into their SS13 collection absolutely flawlessly. Think jackets combining soft lilac and mauve tones with exotic and loud splashes of fuchsia, and colour clashes in the way of deep purples mixed with glamorous golds and sunshine yellows. It just works.
It looks as though the season will be filled with daring brights, statement accessories and a whole lot of metallic colour spectrum – what an eclectic mix; bring it on Burberry!
